I'm not a fan of Zillow for many reasons. While I highly doubt Zillow was the reason this gentleman was unable to sell his home, the online "valuations" can cause stress for homeowners. It's important to remember that Zillow only provides a rough estimate and is not a professional appraisal.
In addition to inaccurate estimates, Zillow often provides dated information to consumers which is one of my pet peeves. Homes often still appear for sale that have been off the market for months. I find this more egregious than their flimsy numbers they throw around, since they clearly state home valuations are indeed estimates. Poor or misleading information for consumers however, is much worse in my opinion.
That's why it's important to use a site like this one, that is directly linked to the MLS and updates daily.
