A Tranquil Master Planned Oasis 

Desert Shores is a unique master planned community in the shadow of the foothills in northwest Las Vegas. Strategically arranged around a series of man-made lakes that cover nearly one-tenth of the community's 682 acres, the area is a haven for ducks, swans and other wildlife. Boating and fishing are permitted in this recreation-oriented community. 

If you're looking for a view, Desert Shores arguably offers the best vistas in the whole of Las Vegas. Many of the 3,351 homes have lake views. Looking out, a triangulation of mountains provide a rugged contrast to the tranquil waters of Lake Jacqueline. The jagged peaks of the Le Madre ridge are visible to the west, topping out at over 8,000 feet. Just south of Le Madre, you can make out the distinctive red and white sandstone cliffs of the Red Rock escarpment. And to the north, the rugged peaks and canyons of the Sheep Mountain range cast spectacular shadows at breaking dawn and sunset. 

Life on the Lake

The well-stocked lakes are so full of fish you'll hardly believe the land was once barren desert. Non-fishermen can boat, kayak or canoe on the lakes or bathe in the "lagoon" - a large, shallow pool in the heart of the master planned community complete with palm trees and man-made beach. Sports enthusiasts have access to volleyball and basketball courts. Competitive tennis is available through the Racquet Club. Over eight miles of walking and biking paths complete the healthy-lifestyle scene.

The Desert Shores commercial center provides shopping, restaurants and other facilities within walking distance of most homes. The Strip is ten miles or twenty minutes away. U.S. 95, Summerlin Parkway and I-215 provide quick and convenient access to destinations across the city.

This 3,351 unit master planned community was developed by RA Homes in 1988. Behind its private gates you’ll find everything from condominiums and starter homes to single family residences and extravagant lakefront estates. Prices range from the low 200's for smaller single family residence, to the high 700's for a lavish custom estate right at the lake front with private boat dock.
