Inside Out Golf Spectacular 

Which came first, the community or the golf? For many of the master planned Las Vegas golf neighborhoods, the answer is simple: both the real estate and the fairways are designed together in one cohesive design. Not so at Stallion Mountain.  

Located on the southeast edge of town, this moderately-priced golf community started life as a simple golfing venue. The lyrically-named Sunrise Golf Club offered pros and duffers three 18-hole golf courses, all conveniently situated just five miles from the Las Vegas Strip. As Vegas reinvented itself as a mecca for families and clean-cut living, Billy Walters took on the site and renamed the project Stallion Mountain. Two of the golf courses were later sold to Pulte Homes, who built several communities on their undulating fairways. 

The golf came first in Stallion Mountain. Walters had to build the real estate around it. The result is an inside-out community where the golf course wraps around the housing, rather than the other way round.  This unique configuration makes Stallion Mountain feel spacious, relaxed and quite remote from all the glitz of Sin City, despite its proximity to the Strip.

The highly-acclaimed Stallion Mountain Golf Club is home to 18 holes of superlative, PGA-caliber golf. Those seeking a little R and R after a challenging day on the greens should check out the spectacular 38,000 square foot clubhouse with its quirky wild-horse theme. Good food and great company await.

Living in Stallion Mountain

Stallion Mountain real estate is great value for a golf course community. Three Las Vegas neighborhoods, The Fairways, The Links and The Greens offer a range of housing options at a reasonable price point; the Black Horse condo community is close by. Both The Fairways and The Greens feature 2,000-plus square feet homes located alongside the golf course. The Links offers smaller floor plans, but the village has its own private recreational facilities including a pool, spa, club house and fitness center.  

The east of the city has its detractors, and few would argue that Stallion Mountain is up to the luxurious standards of Green Valley or Summerlin. But if large plots, great houses and lots of space are what you're after, this pleasant golf community is hard to beat.
