Spicy Casas, Spanish Style

On the western edge of the Summerlin master plan sits The Paseos, a 400-acre residential village that draws its architectural inspiration from the Spanish conquistadors. Built after the City passed the Las Vegas water-conservation bill, The Paseos takes responsible resource consumption to heart. You won't find any water-guzzling turf here. Instead, the designers have worked hard to lay out a broad landscape of natural desert fauna. The result is not as stark as you might expect. Certainly, The Paseos isn't as lush as the more mature Summerlin villages, but its beautifully unique combination of native flowering plants, Mojave grasses and dryscaping is thoughtful, sustainable and undeniably attractive. Those seeking a closer connection with the natural desert surrounding will not be disappointed. 

Home of The Paseos Trails

Panning over 375 acres, The Paseos boasts a number of community amenities. The 12 acre Paseo Park is a relaxed, family-friendly park featuring a basketball court, T-ball fields, a sand volleyball court, picnic pavilions, play areas for the kids, splash pads and a motorized toy area. The popular Paseos trail system runs north to south through the village. This attractive trail is a great amenity for walkers and bikers who wish to blow off some steam, due in part to the fitness stations that are scattered along its length.  

The developing Downtown Summerlin with its 106-acre shopping, dining and entertainment complex lies in close proximity. Anchored by Macy's and Dillard’s, The Shops at Summerlin Center will provide a vibrant, walkable downtown at the heart of this exciting community.  

The most westward village in Summerlin, The Paseos is the closest Summerlin community to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area. Visited by more than one million people each year, Red Rock is a world away from the glitz and excess of the Las Vegas Strip. It really is a place of outstanding natural beauty. Red Rock's stunning red and taupe striped mountains form the backdrop to The Paseos real estate, and visitors can enjoy more than 30 miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, rock climbing, mountain biking and observation decks that make the most of the exquisite views.   

Living in The Paseos

While condos are available in the Coronado gated community, the majority of the real estate in The Paseos is single-family. All of the architecture draws from the Spanish Hacienda and Mission styles that originated in Spain. Expect stucco walls, low-pitched red clay roofs and sweeping archways as standard.  As one of Summerlin's newer villages, the homes here feature energy efficient technologies and a range of contemporary features including granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and custom cabinetry. 

New and resale homes are available. Prices fluctuate from around $150,000 to over $1 million, according to the floor plan and upgrades you choose. Unsurprisingly, the most coveted streets are those with breathtaking Strip views.
